Causeway Coast showjumpers start season with two events

The Coleraine and District RDA have invested a lot of money recently in upgrading both their indoor and outdoor jumping surfaces which are now amongst the best in the country.

Entries in all classes were disappointing but nonetheless there was some excellent jumping in this top class venue.

The second event was held in the Bowl Arena in Portrush but despite the dismal weather forecast it remained dry throughout the day. The jumping surface in Portrush was in top class condition as usual providing some highly competitive show jumping.

The show organisers were delighted to welcome Miss Emma Jane McLoughlin to compete at the Bowl in Portrush. Emma Jane is the granddaughter of Jimmy McCloskey the well known and popular rider who has been a regular competitor in Portrush over the years with his team of horses which included the world famous Mr Springfield. Mr Springfield, when ridden by Robert Smith, represented the British Team at the Olympic Games.
