Classy Armagh are the team to beat

Academy looks to be the team forging clear at the top of Section Two. On Saturday they beat nearest rivals Armagh with what would be best described as an all round team performance,

Davy Greenlees top scored with 39 and Mitchell Atkins taking 3-48.

On Sunday the side featured in that rarity, a tie against Drumaness, Mark Shields making 63,

Neil Gelston and Conor Deegan both scoring 33 in the Drumaness reply.

Drumaness had completed a five wicket victory the previous day against Victoria despite a century for Ajmal. Neil Gelston continues to be a model of consistency, top scoring with 86 and James Cunningham having a fine all round game following his three wickets with 66.

Another fine all round performance for BISC’s Vinoth a century and three wickets contributing to the 19 run win over Saintfield.

For Cooke Collegians it is all becoming a bit déjà-vu, a 10 wicket thrashing on Saturday

by Donaghcloney and despite posted 210 on Sunday thanks to Mark Robinson’s 92, an unbeaten 58 from Harry Boyd secured the points for Armagh.

Laurelvale gave themselves some breathing space over local rivals Millpark with a four wicket victory. For Millpark the McCart clan did their best, Ryan with 47, Stu 36 and Paul taking 3-29.
