NORTH WEST LEAGUE: Bready sink into the mire after Eglinton thrashing

Bready are even deeper in the relegation mire after losing for the seventh time in eight North West Premiership matches on Wednesday night.

David Scanlon’s men are two points adrift of their closest rivals after a crushing nine-wicket defeat by Senior Cup finalists Eglinton.

Chasing a modest target of 103 for victory, Eglinton cruised home in just 27.3 overs thanks to an unbeaten second wicket partnership between Craig Averill and Oraine Williams.

Averill struck an unbeaten 36 and West Indian Williams was 34 when the formalities were completed.

Previously, Brian Crumley top scored with 32 and Robert Spence added 23 but Bready folded against Eglinton spinners Ross Allen and Richard Wylie.
