The Dublin date offers an opportunity to impress Knights head coach Simon Johnston

“It’s great to have inter-provincial cricket back up and running,” said Johnston. “The guys worked hard over the winter and in pre-season to ensure that they are ready to go come the first ball tomorrow.

MTB Northern Knights (v Leinster Lightning): Harry Tector, Mark Adair, Matthew Foster, Luke Georgeson, Jeremy Lawlor, John Matchett, Graeme McCarter, James McCollum, Ruhan Pretorius, Neil Rock, Paul Stirling, Ben White.

Tector will be joined by fellow Irish internationals Mark Adair, James McCollum and Paul Stirling.

Luke Georgeson, Jeremy Lawlor and Ben White stand in line for debuts.

The squad also incudes Matthew Foster, who has been playing for Cardiff UCCE and Somerset seconds this summer, plus a recall for the first time in three years for CIYMS opening batsman John Matchett.

The MTB Northern Knights fixtures are as follows over the Inter-Provincial Cup: 4 MAY - LEINSTER LIGHTNING (PEMBROKE), 16 MAY - LEINSTER LIGHTNING (NORTH DOWN), 18 MAY - NORTH WEST WARRIORS (STORMONT), 21 MAY - NORTH WEST WARRIORS (BREADY), 27 MAY - MUNSTER REDS (MCU REGION), 10 JUNE - MUNSTER REDS (STORMONT).
