Ards are top of the Championship 1 table thanks to a spirited 3-2 win over Donegal Celtic on Saturday.
Denver Gage fired Ards into a sixth-minute lead at and when Jordan Baker lobbedthe keeper for number two five minutes later things were looking ominous for the Suffolk Road men.
Gage added his second on 51 minutes when he stooped low to head home but DC put up a fight, pulling one back through Ryan Dunlop on 63 minutes and yet another by Anto McGonnell to set up a nervy last 15 minutes which Ards saw out to collect all three points.
Meanwhile, Harland and Wolff Welders saw off Bangor 2-1 to sit in second spot in the table.
They took the lead with only three minutes on the clock when Michael McLellan headed home but Bangor’s Stephen Curry slammed home an equaliser on 15 minutes.
The Welders were back in front again in the 23rd minute with what proved to be the winning goal when Neil Dougan curled a left footer over the keeper from wide on the right.
Elsewhere, Armagh City beat Dergview 3-1.
Eamonn Kelly headed home a corner to give Armagh the lead on 19 minutes but Dergview were back on level terms on the half hour mark.
City regained the lead in the 73rd minute when Havern finished off from a Kelly pass and sealed the victory with a third as Noonan slotted home from close in when the keeper dropped the ball from a corner kick.
Annagh United came away with all three points at Institute.
The Championship 1 newcomers netted in the 77th with a goal from skipper Richard Allen who latched onto the end of a free kick to convert a close range header past Lynch.
Lurgan Celtic defeated Loughgall with a disputed penalty 12 minutes from time.
Gary Henderson was adjudged to have fouled Aaron Haire and Chris Lavery fired home the spot kick to clinch maximum points.
