Gary Haveron admits Carrick Rangers face a baptism of fire in the Danske Bank Premiership – but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Carrick will kick-off their top-flight return with a tricky trip to Dungannon Swifts on August 8.
Then there will be two home games against Linfield and Glentoran, followed by a trip to Cliftonville.
It is a daunting opening month for last season’s Championship 1 winners, but first-team coach Haveron is relishing the challenge.
“I have no complaints whatsoever,” said Haveron.
“We kept saying last season that all we wanted was to get into the Premiership again. Now we are here, we can’t start complaining about the teams we are playing.
“This is what it is all about. We want to be playing the Linfields and Glentorans, and to have those clubs return to Carrick is fantastic.
“We can’t wait for August 8 to come along. It is an exciting time for the club.”
Meanwhile, Haveron is confident talisman Conor McCluskey will stay at the club.
McCluskey – who is being tracked by Glenavon and Glentoran – looks set to sign a new deal with Carrick.
“I am confident Conor will sign a new contract,” Haveron added.
“He is a big part of this club and he believes in what we are doing.”
