Crusaders legend David Magowan has announced his retirement from football.

Magowan spent 13 years at Seaview, lifting a number of major trophies with the Shore Road club.

During his time with the Crues the defender won the County Antrim Shield, League Cup, the Setanta Cup and back to back Premiership titles. Magowan played 477 times and scored two goals.

Mags, as he is affectionately known, said: “I won’t play for anyone else because I love Crusaders.

“I loved every minute of it, the dressing room, the fans, the people around the club and I will be back as a supporter.”
