The future of Glentoran star Jordan Stewart remained in doubt on Sunday night.
Swindon Town tabled a bid in the region of £55,000 for the 20-year-old last week.
The Glens responded to the English League One club on Saturday but as of Sunday night no deal had been reached.
Oval chairman Stephen Henderson admitted that talks were ongoing between the two clubs.
“Swindon have tabled a bid and we are currently in negotiations,” Henderson said.
“Contrary to reports and speculation no fee has been agreed. We are still in talks with Swindon over a number of contractual issues.
“The ball is now in Swindon’s court. They tabled an offer in the middle of last week and we replied to them yesterday.
“I am now waiting to hear back from Swindon with regards our discussions.”
Stewart – who joined Glentoran in 2013 – has been on the radar of a number of clubs across the water.
The versatile forward went on trial with Middlesbrough and Stoke City last season before signing a new long-term deal with the Glens.
Barnsley also tabled an offer in the region of £25,000 for Stewart earlier this summer which was rejected by his Oval employers.
Stewart’s stock continued to rise with a wonder goal against Crusaders last Wednesday, with Swindon confirming their bid soon after.
