LINFIELD 2 BALLYMENA UTD 1

Linfield got their Danske Bank Premiership title challenge back on track with this hard-fought win over Ballymena United at Windsor Park.

Ballymena got off to a dream start with David Cushley blasting an unstoppable drive into the top corner after Tony Kane innocently rolled a free kick in his direction.

But new signing Grant McCann had the Blues level before the break, capitalising on some poor defending to lash the ball into the bottom corner on 43 minutes.

Ross Clarke earned Linfield the points by firing home a wonderful drive from the edge of the penalty area 16 minutes from time.
