GLENTORAN 4 ARMAGH CITY 1
Glentoran eased into the quarter-finals of the Irish Cup with a 4-1 victory over Armagh City.
Second half goals from Steven Gordon, Stephen McAlorum, Curtis Allen and Fra McCaffrey saw the Glens see off the Championship 1 underdogs at The Oval - Stephen Murray bagged Armagh’s reply.
Gordon swept home from close range in the 51st minute to break the deadlock after Armagh failed to deal with Allen’s free-kick.
McAlorum doubled the lead four minutes later with a cross from the left that somehow drifted over Armagh goalkeeper Sean Morgan and into the net.
Allen added a third in the 70th minute, the striker racing onto Jordan Stewart’s pass before coolly slotting past Morgan.
Armagh earned some reward for their endeavour with Murray’s goal in the 79th minute, the striker lashing a superb strike into the top corner from just inside the box.
Three minutes later Glentoran scored their fourth goal with substitute McCaffrey finishing off David Scullion’s cross.
