Ballinamallard United boss Whitey Anderson has urged his players to build on Saturday’s encouraging win at The Oval.

The Mallards eased to a 2-0 victory against Glentoran in the Danske Bank Premiership – their first league success since the opening day of the season.

Anderson’s side hosts Glenavon on Wednesday night at Ferney Park (8pm), and the manager is looking for more of the same against the Lurgan Blues.

“Saturday was our first win since the opening day of the season so it was a big one for us, and a welcome one,” Anderson said.

“It was a big three points, and we need to try and build on that and gain some momentum in the league.

“Wednesday is a very tough game. Glenavon have plenty of goals in them so we will need to be on our guard.”
