Cliftonville have accepted an offer from Peterborough United for prolific striker Joe Gormley.

The Reds’ leading goalscorer is set finalise terms with the English League One club.

Gormley bagged 40 goals last season as he broke his own club record for the number of goals scored in one season. His stellar tally included five hat-tricks.

The 26-year-old – who joined the Irish Premiership side from Amateur League club Crumlin Star in 2011 – was the NI Football Writers’ player of the year in 2014.

He helped Cliftonville claim back-to-back Premiership titles and last season the County Antrim Shield and League Cup.
