Linfield boss David Healy insists age will be no barrier for young players looking to climb the ranks at Windsor Park.
Healy has shown his faith in youth with the signing of 18-year-old Paul Smyth on a professional contract to the end of the 2016/17 season.
“I’ve heard a lot of good reports about young Paul from our Swifts coach Alan Dornan who I have a lot of respect for,” Healy said.
“This signing will show our younger players that there are opportunities for young players to work their way through the Academy ranks at the club. I’m a firm believer that age will not be a barrier to being a part of the squad.”
