Coleraine boss Oran Kearney has praised Stephen Douglas after the influential defender signed a new contract with the club.
Douglas – who joined in 2013 – has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the Bannsiders.
“I’m delighted ‘Dougie’ has agreed another year’s contract,” Kearney told the club’s website.
“He has been a terrific influence around the club in his time here, particularly with the younger players.
“I know all those who have made the breakthrough to the first team over the last couple of seasons have learned so much from him.
“Speaking to Lyndon Kane after making his debut he said his job was made so easy as he just did what ‘Dougie’ told him to do.
“Experience like that is vital for young players and will help them develop.
“To be fair to Stephen I felt he had a really good season last time out and he was just behind Neil McCafferty and Ian Parkhill in terms of consistency and performances, so this new deal is just rewards for that.”
