A waterlogged pitch forced the postponement of the Danske Bank Premiership clash between Carrick and Glenavon.

Friday’s Danske Bank Irish Premiership game between Carrick Rangers and Glenavon was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The announcement was made on New Year’s Day morning following a pitch inspection.

It is the sixth postponement this season at Carrick’s home ground of the Belfast Loughshore Arena.

A new date for the match is being sought as Rangers’ growing backlog of fixtures continues to mount.

The remaining five Danske Bank Premiership matches went ahead as scheduled.
