IRISH LEAGUE: Promotion/Relegation play-off details confirmed

The Northern Ireland Football League have released details of this season's Premiership promotion relegation play-offs.

Championship 1 clubs Ards, Institute and Larne are the only clubs now eligible to participate in the play-offs.

As Ards and Institute are in the IFA Intermediate Cup Final on Monday, May 2, if either club is involved in the play-offs the following dates will apply:

* 1st Leg, Friday, May 6 (7.45pm); 2nd Leg, Tuesday, May 10 (7.45pm.)

If Larne are in the play-offs the following dates will apply:

* 1st Leg, Tuesday, May 3 (7.45pm); 2nd Leg, Friday, May 6 (7.45pm).

Ards missed out on the chance to clinch the Championship 1 title last night as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Knockbreda.

Niall Currie’s men will meet Loughgall at the Bangor Fuels Arena tomorrow knowing that a draw will be enough to secure promotion.

Any of four Premiership clubs, Portadown, Ballinamallard United, Warrenpoint Town or Carrick Rangers, could be involved in the play-off.
