Linfield appear to be closing in on the signing of Peterborough United midfielder Grant McCann.
The Blues expect to complete a deal for the 39-times capped Northern Ireland international in the next 48 hours.
Linfield manager Warren Feeney is refusing to name any transfer targets, but admitted at the weekend that the club were hoping to confirm the signing of a “very experienced player” on Monday or Tuesday.
“It is a player who I believe will be a big addition to the squad,” Feeney said after his side’s 2-0 win over Tobermore United in the Irish Cup courtesy of Andy Waterworth’s brace.
“We have done what we have needed to do so hopefully it all goes to plan.
“It would be a fantastic signing for Linfield, and would show the intentions of this club.
“So hopefully it works out.”
