Linfield’s Danske Bank Premiership game with Glenavon on Saturday, April 11 will now be played at the Ballymena Showgrounds (3pm kick-off).

The fixture has been moved from Windsor Park due to ongoing safety fears at the international stadium.

The West Stand – affectionately known as the Kop – was sealed off on Tuesday over concerns of possible subsidence after cracks were discovered in the structure.

This Saturday’s game with Crusaders has already been postponed and will be rearranged for a later date at a neutral venue.

Linfield vice-chairman Billy Kennedy said: “We are indebted to Ballymena Borough Council and Ballymena United Football Club for their co-operation in helping arrange this fixture. Also to Glenavon for their co-operation in the matter, which we full appreciate.

“We would appeal to our supporters to turn out in their numbers as they always do on April 11 at the Showgrounds.”
