Linfield have announced the signing of former Cork City player Ross Gaynor.

The 28-year-old from Ardee in County Louth, who can play as a left-back or in midfield, has signed a contract that will keep him at Windsor Park until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Blues boss David Healy said: “I am delighted to be able to announce the signing of 28-year-old Ross Gaynor on a contract that will see him committed to the club until the end of the 2016/17 season.

“He’s a talented player and a winner, with lots of experience from his time with Dundalk, Sligo Rovers and Cork City. He’s won the league and cup with Sligo, so he will bring a winning mentality to our squad.

“He will strengthen the squad and increase the competition levels within the squad and I know our supporters will welcome his arrival as we face up to a busy period with important league and cup games on the horizon.”
