NI squad v South Korea: Call-ups for Jamal Lewis and Conor Hazard, but no Will Grigg or Paul Smyth

Norwich defender Jamal Lewis has been named in Northern Ireland's 24-man squad to face South Korea later this month.

The 20-year-old left-back hit the headlines in January when he scored against Chelsea in the FA Cup. Also named on the panel is another uncapped player, Conor Hazard. On the books of Celtic, the 20-year-old goalkeeper, is currently on loan at Falkirk.

Despite his recent goalscoring heroics for Wigan Athletic - including a superb goal to knock Man City out of the FA Cup - there is no place in the squad for Wigan striker Will Grigg.

Speaking about his ommission from the squad, NI boss Michael O'Neill said: O’Neill: “Will Grigg wants to be involved but he wants to concentrate on Wigan and their promotion push. In the summer we will see where he is at.”

Ex-Linfield star Paul Smyth, now plying his trade with QPR, is another name not in the full international squad.

“Paul Smyth will be part of the U21s squad, he is someone who is definitely in my thoughts,” added O'Neill.
