Crusaders winger Paul Heatley has been named Ulster Footballer of the Year.

Heatley – who helped guide the Crues to the Premiership title this season – saw off team-mate Jordan Owens and Cliftonville’s Joe Gormley to the honour, which is awarded by Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club.

The winner was announced by Minister for Culture, Arts and Leisure, Caral Ni Chuilin at a special ceremony at Stormont on Friday

The trophy will be presented at a gala dinner in Belfast on May 8.
