Dungannon Swifts and Institute shared the points in a game which had little at stake for either side.

Darren Murphy’s men already know they are safe, and went ahead midway through the first half via an own goal.

Already relegated Institute battled back in the second half, levelling through Cormac Burke.

Institute created the game’s first chance after seven minutes with Paddy McLaughlin firing wide after a free-kick ran through to him.

Dungannon threatened via Abby Sanusi after good approach play from Andrew Mitchell.

The home side went ahead in the 23rd minute. Jamie Glackin curled in a corner, with the ball going in via the goalkeeper.

Otherwise it was a low-key first half between two sides with little left to play for this season.

Both managers made a double change just before the hour mark, with Institute’s young midfielder Burke among the substitutes.

And he responded with an equaliser in the 63rd minute, lobbing the ball over Andy Coleman.

Burke could have put the visitors ahead in the 76th minute but shot straight at the goalkeeper from a good position.

Swifts sub Stefan Lavery went close late on, taking a pass from Jamie Douglas and testing the goalkeeper from distance.
