The Germans completed dominated the match and the scoreline probably should have been greater given the opportuites created by the four-times winners but Scotland goalkeepr Rebecca Flaherty put in a good shift in spite of the scoreline..

The Germans led 2-0 at the break after goals from Gwinn and Rieke.

The second half was less one-sided but it was the green shirts of Germany who continued in the asecendancy.

But they had to wait until the 79th minute to increase their lead when, with her first touch of the ball, replacement Memeti headed in a crossed ball.
