Rory McIlroy has missed the cut at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by the Rory Foundation at Royal County Down on Friday.

McIroy finished his two rounds on nine over par after a 71 on Friday and a 80 on Thursday.

It means he will miss the weekend’s action, which will be a huge disappointment to the thousands of fans who will be spectating over the weekend.

Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke have made the cut and will be in action over the weekend.
