Michael Hoey misses cut at Alfred Dunhill Championships

Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey has missed the cut at the Alfred Dunhill Championships in South Africa by one shot.

Hoey fired a one-over-par 73 in the second round as he finished on level pair at Malelane, taking a share of 76th position after carding three birdies and four bogeys.

Hoey, who finished 57th in the Race to Dubai standings with earnings of £676,775, had been targeting a strong start to the 2015 European Tour.

Branden Grace from South Africa leads on 16 under, with Francesco Molinari next (-11) and Tjaart van der Walt third on 10 under.
