Michael Hoey fired a four-over-par round of 76 to drop down the leaderboard at the Hassan Trophy in Morocco.
Hoey was five off the pace at the halfway stage but Saturday’s round saw him drop to 64th – 11 behind the leaders who were still on course at Golf du Palais Royal.
Irish golfer Kevin Phelan picked up three shots to improve to seven under after 11 to maintain his challenge.
That left him a shot behind Scottish pair Andrew McArthur and Richie Ramsay.
Hoey is currently 120th in the Race to Dubai standings.
