Ulster have rung the changes in naming their team for the Interprovincial championship at Rosapenna GC from 6th-8th July.
Captain Colm Murphy does not have the services of either Dermot McElroy (Ballymena) or Cormac Sharvin (Ardglass) who have both been selected by Ireland to compete in the European Team Championships at the Penati Golf Resort in Slovakia from 5-8 August.
Moyola Park’s Chris Selfridge is also unavailable having turned professional in recent weeks.
It all means that Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint), Colin Fairweather (Knock) and John-Ross Galbraith (Whitehead) are the only surviving members of last year’s team that lost out to Munster on the final day of competition.
In come the reigning South of Ireland Champion, Stuart Bleakley (Shandon Park), William Hanna (Kilkeel GC), Jordan Hood (Galgorm Castle), Gareth Lappin (Belvoir Park) and Tiarnan McLarnon (Massereene).
Matthew McClean (Balmoral) makes way along with Stephen Coulter (Warrenpoint) who has been named as first reserve.
Meanwhile, Rory Williamson (Holywood) carded a course record six under 66 at Tuam GC to move into contention at the Irish Boys Amateur Open Championship in County Galway.
Williamson trails Barry Fitzpatrick (Castle) by two shots heading into today’s third round.
There is a four way tie for third on level par between Marc McKinstry (Cairndhu), Gian-Marco Petrozzi (England), Antoin Auboin (France) and Harry Gillivan (Westport).
After today’s third round, the top-50 plus ties will play the final 18 holes on Friday.
