The Stena Line Belfast Giants returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home win on Friday night over the Dundee Stars.
Goals from Mark Garside and Kyle Baun earned the Giants a first Elite League win of the season.
Both sides will go toe-to-toe again today when the Stars host the Giants at the Dundee Ice Arena.
Tyler Beskorowany started in the Giants net with Francis Beauvillier, Matt Towe and Andrew Dickson missing for the hosts.
The visitors took an early lead in Belfast - much to the surprise and disappointment of the local fans - when Matt Marquardt slid the puck past Beskorowany at 4:30.
It was a good finish from Beskorowany who was assisted by Brian Hart and Lukas Lundvald Nielsen.
Mark Garside posted the equalising goal right at the end of the middle period.
Garside’s shot took a deflection on it’s way into the Stars net at 38:55 and it really was game on now as thet giants picked up the pace.
The Giants final period pressure paid off at 56:19 when Kyle Baun redirected Guillaume Gelinas’ shot low in the Dundee goal.
It was a good win fior the Giants and that result - getting their first win in the Elite League - will boost their morale and confidence as they go in to their next few matches.
The Giants travel to face the Dundee Stars away today, face-off 7pm.
Next up at home is back-to-back games in Belfast against the Milton Keynes Lightning on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October.
