Chris Lawrence scored a brace as Nottingham Panthers fought back to claim a 3-2 overtime victory over Elite League leaders Sheffield Steelers at the National Ice Centre on Saturday.
Colton Fretter and Robert Dowd put the Steelers 2-0 ahead before Lawrence scored his first and Charles Landry made it 2-2 by the third period.
Lawrence struck again in overtime to hand his side their second win on the bounce as they sit fifth in the table.
In spite of the loss, Sheffield remain two points ahead of second-placed Braehead Clan, who suffered a 6-1 defeat to Belfast Giants with Darryl Lloyd on target with a brace.
Cardiff Devils moved level on points with Braehead thanks to their fifth consecutive win - a 3-1 victory over Coventry Blaze, while in Hull, the Stingrays returned to winning ways as they held on to edge Edinburgh Capitals 3-2.
Elsewhere, Fife Flyers claimed a 7-5 victory over bottom side Dundee Stars in the day’s highest scoring game.
