Colin Turkington scaled the top step in the British Touring Car Championship round at Donington Park after taking a win in race two.
The Portadown man finished third in the first race his team-mate Jason Plato and Gordon Shedden.
Turkington, who started race two from the front row in second place, immediately charged ahead of the pack and steadily pulled away from the opposition to seal a relatively easy win.
It was his 33rd in the BTCC and his first win in a front-wheel drive car since his Mondello Park victory in 2005 when he raced an MG.
Matt Neal made his way through the traffic to take second with Adam Morgan taking the final podium position in his Mercedes.
A delighted Turkington returned to the pit area having not only secured his first win of the 2015 season, but also taking the lead of the championship, fourteen points clear of his nearest challenger.
With the semi reverse grid in play in race three it was Josh Cook who had pole position in his Chevrolet Cruze and he managed to lead for several laps in what was the most entertaining of the trio of races.
Former champion Neal fought his way through to win for Honda from Andrew Jordan (MG) and Shedden in the second works Honda.
Handicapped by the soft tyre, Turkington fell back from his seventh start position to finish 11th, loosing his lead in the series to Neal. Two points separate the pair as the next three rounds will be fought out at Thruxton.
