Craig Breen won the 2015 Circuit of Ireland Rally in Belfast on Saturday.
The Waterford man and co-driver Scott Martin had a six second lead over runners up Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jaroslaw Baran in their Ford Fiesta.
It was one of the closest finishes for years and with Breen experiencing power problems with his Peugeot 208 throughout the competition - it was a fantastic drive.
He put his car off the road on the penultimate stage to allow Kajetanowicz to close to within five seconds before the tough final stage.
Breen credited his co-driver for settling him down after the setback, allowing him to drive to victory.
“All my life it has been my dream to win the Circuit of Ireland and now I have emulated my hero, Frank Meagher, who won it 20 years ago,” he said.
Polish rally champion Kajetanowicz came second, Josh Moffett came in third, followed by his brother Sam in fourth, both driving Ford Fiestas.
