Instonians maintained their spot at the top of the Premiership but they struggled to put away an injury strewn Newry side, who were missing several key players.

Goals from James Corry and James Dowling gave Inst a narrow 2-1 win.

But they are being chased by Portadown, Raphoe and Kilkeel who all notched up wins to also maintain their 100 per cent start.

A double strike from Adam Stevenson secured a superb win for Portadown over visitors Civil Service. Stevenson edged the Ports into a 56th minute lead, only to see it cancelled out by Gareth Grundie in the 60th minute.

But with four minutes remaining, Stevenson snatched the winner and all three points for the Ports.

Mossley are still looking for their first league win of the season, as they crashed to a 2-1 defeat to Kilkeel.

Mossley took the lead through David Glenny but goals from David Rae and Eddie Agnew secured maximum points for the home side.

A Chris Lemon hat-trick helped Belfast Harlequins to a 6-3 victory over North Down, which also saw David Sheppard score a hat-trick for the visitors.

An Alan Lyttle double secured the points for Raphoe, as they sent South Antrim packing in a 3-1 win for the Donegal side.

Bangor jumped to the top of Senior One, as they crushed Ballynahinch 6-1. A David Hurley hat-trick helped Cliftonville to a pulsating 4-3 win over Portrush.

Whilst John McCaugue aslo bagged a hat-trick, as Queens put Armagh to the sword in a 4-0 win.

In the remaining game Antrim shared the spoils with Campbellians, Johnny McMeekin scoring for Antrim.
