The Braehead Clan moved into a five-point lead at the top of the Elite League with a 7-3 win over the Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday.

Matt Keith and Neil Trimm both scored twice for the Clan who won their eighth consecutive game while the Capitals lost their 11th straight.

The Belfast Giants bounced back from their 4-0 defeat to Nottingham on Friday night to leapfrog the Panthers into second place with a 5-2 win over the Fife Flyers.

Meanwhile, Brent Walton scored his second goal of the night in overtime to hand the Cardiff Devils a 3-2 win over the Hull Stingrays while Jeff Legue scored the winner with three seconds remaining as the Sheffield Steelers beat the Coventry Blaze 2-1.
