Steven Kane has retained his drive with Bentley Motorsport for the 2015 season, after an outstanding debut season with the team last year.
With 2014 including two race victories from five races for the County Down driver, and the runners-up spot in the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Works Bentley Team M-Sport outfit has re-signed the Ballynahinch-born racer to drive the number 7 Continental GT3 alongside his British teammates Guy Smith and Andy Meyrick.
Kane will compete in all five rounds of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series, spanning continental Europe and including the gruelling 24 Hours of Spa.
He and the team will be aiming to improve on the consecutive victories scored at Silverstone and Paul Ricard last year, having learnt a great deal about the new Continental GT3 race car.
Before the start of the European season, Kane and Bentley will travel to Australia to tackle a new race to him, the formidable Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, one of the world’s most challenging races that takes places at the fearsome Mount Panorama circuit near Sydney.
“It is great to be staying with Bentley. We had a great season together last year and we were both very keen to continue our partnership, and I am really looking forward to another season in the Continental GT3.
“It is a very quick car and one that is so enjoyable to drive, and with an expanded programme this year we will hopefully have more opportunity to race for more podiums and victories.
“I have been working really hard on maintaining and improving my fitness over the winter.
“The first race of the season is the 12-hour endurance at Bathurst, which is renowned as being extremely tough both mentally and physically, so it will be a great test before the Blancpain Endurance Series.”
