Instonians and Mossley had already booked their places in next month’s Kirk Semi-Finals.

And after the weekend results, they will be joined by Belfast Harlequins and Civil Service, making it an all-Belfast quartet.

The Linden semi-finalists will be Campbellians and Queens from Pool A and Bangor and Cliftonville who topped Pool B.

The Kirk semis will be played on Sunday the 8 November, venue to be announced and the Linden semis pencilled in for Sunday 29 November, with the venue still to be announced.

Former Irish Coach

Ireland’s former Irish coach, Paul Revington, will be coaching Delhi Waveriders in the Hero Hockey India League. Revington left Ireland to become coach of the Malaysian international team but he has since moved on.

He will join up with Ulster’s Iain Lewers, who will also be playing for Waveriders, after Lewers was a bargain buy in the recent player auction for £11,600.

Schoolboy EYHL debut

Fifteen year old schoolboy Matthew Rollston, made his EYHL debut for Banbridge and he helped them to a 6-1 win against Railway Union last Saturday.

English Premiership

Former Banbridge player, Dane Ward, is enjoying life playing for Surbiton in the English premiership. Surbiton are sitting at the top of the English league, after they hammered Canterbury 6-2. The English side are undefeated this season, with four wins out of four.

Ulster’s Mark Gleghorne was on the scoresheet for Beeston, as they drew 1-1 against Holocombe. There were three Ulster players on the pitch, as David Ames plays for Beeston and Iain Lewers for Holocombe.

Irish Schools

Banbridge, Wallace, Regent Sullivan will be joined by Cookstown, Friends, Royal and Prior in the season’s Irish Schools Championships. 
Inst play Bangor for the 8th Ulster spot. Inst will be favourites to win that one.

The tourney will run from 21-23 October. Matches are being held at Queens, Shaw’s Bridge and Deramore, with semi-finals and final at Lisnagarvey.

Irish Cup draws

The draws for  the first round of Men’s Irish Senior Cup and Irish Hockey Trophy will be taking place at mid-day today at the Hockey Ireland office. 

As soon as the draw has been completed, all the fixtures will be added to the Hockey Ireland website.
