Bangor’s Gary Scott will today go on a double mission in the Bangor Bowls tournament at Pickie.
The former Irish international has forged his way through to the semi finals in both the pairs and fours disciplines.
Joined by Jackie Campbell in the former, Scott enjoyed a battling 11-9 win over Billy Parker and Raymond Barr in yesterday’s quarter finals.
Campbell and Scott are joined in the last four by Elaine and Robert Hastings, who defeated Tommy Cheevers and Chris Dorman (18-9)
Also through are former winners Pat and David McRandal who defeated North Down kids Paul and Jamie McMeekin, while Billy Shand and Michael Fay complete the line-up.
Scott earlier defeated his Bangor pal Mark Shannon to claim a place in the fours semi final, where he will now face McRandal tonight.
Meanwhile, there are number of mouth watering fixtures down for decision in the singles. Ballymoney’s international skip Gary Kelly, looking to pick up the prestigious trophy for the first time, lines out against Castle’s Matt Stevenson, while something must give when Ireland duo Alistair Coleman (Ballymena) and Hastings go head to head.
