Table Tennis Ulster is gearing up for a massive weekend of competition with the Douglas Huston Ulster Open.

This multi-national tournament, which is attracting entries from the UK and Europe, is for senior and junior players and will take place at Lisburn Racquets Centre from from November 27-29 with table tennis played at its highest level.

Table Tennis Ulster has launched an exciting new partnership with Northern Ireland property company Douglas Huston for the three-day festival.

This event will build on the success of the first ever combined Ulster Open in 2014, which attracted record numbers and top players and the Senior Six Nations 2015 in Lisburn in which the Irish trio of Paul McCreery, Ashley Robinson (both Ulster) and Gavin Maguire (Dublin) took an impressive team silver, and such as Scottish Commonwealth Star Gavin Rumgay was top player – all have already entered the Douglas Huston Ulster Open.

Arnold Morgan, Chairperson of Table Tennis Ulster said: “The support of Douglas Huston has enabled Table Tennis Ulster to raise the profile of the tournament with many high performance athletes looking to enter from the mainland and further afield.

“An exciting three days which will showcase the sport and inspire younger hopefuls to go to their local club and have a try!”

Gareth Gibson from Douglas Huston added: “Douglas Huston are delighted to sponsor the Ulster Table Tennis Open 2015. It is a fantastic sport and we would encourage people to take the opportunity to come and watch all the action.

“As a company we believe it is vital that growing sports receive the support to hold these international events and develop the undoubted local talent we have.”

Spectator entry to this spectacular will be free over the three days – the public is encouraged to pop in and experience the atmosphere of intense national and international competition.

The Senior Men’s and Women’s Ulster Open Finals will be held on Saturday evening with Junior Open finals on Sunday, supported by Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council.

Competition entries closed on November 16.
