Tyrone hold off Laois to maintain fine league start

Padraig McNulty grabbed a 57th-minute goal to earn Tyrone a 1-14 to 0-14 Division Two victory over Laois at Portloaise yesterday.

The goal put Tyrone eight points in front but Laois responded with five points and only a late save from Tyrone keeper Michael O’Neill spared the Red Hands.

Derry’s winning start in Division Two was ended abruptly as Galway were full value for this three-point win at Celtic Park.

In Division One, Donegal returned to the summit with a 1-14 to 1-12 success over Mayo.

Mayo led 0-8 to 0-7 at half-time at Ballybofey and moved three ahead after Diarmuid O’Connor’s penalty.

Leo McLoone’s 58th-minute goal helped Donegal maintain their unbeaten record. Down remain bottom of Division 1 after losing heavily against Kerry.

On Saturday evening an injury-time point earned Dublin a 1-14 to 0-16 victory over Monaghan at Croke Park.

Armagh grabbed a vital win in Division Two, beating Fermanagh with a late, late point.

In Division Four, Antrim Antrim maintained their unbeaten record with a 2-14 to 0-9 win over Leitrim
