Buildbase BMW team confirmed for Sunflower Trophy meeting

MCE British Superbike team Buildbase BMW has been confirmed for next weekend’s JAS Finlay Sunflower Trophy meeting at Bishopscourt on Saturday, October 24.

An official statement issued on Friday revealed that Steve Hicken’s team would make the trip to Co Down for the prestigious end-of-season meeting, but did not reveal the identity of the two riders set to compete on the S1000RR machines.s

However, a spokesman for the organising Hillsborough Club told the News Letter the most probable outcome would be that the team’s BSB riders, Lee Jackson and Richard Cooper, would feature in the line-up.

Japan’s Ryuichi Kiyonari has been dropped from the team for this weekend’s final round of the BSB Showdown with no explanation provided, although the Japanese rider’s management company revealed that ‘Kiyo’ - who appeared to be a shadow of his former self this season - was desperate to compete at the Kent track.

Next Saturday’s Sunflower meeting boasts a stellar entry, including Glenn Irwin, Danny Buchan, Alastair Seeley, Josh Elliott, Marshal Neill, Keith Farmer and more top names.
