The Irish road racing season continues this weekend with the Faugheen 50 meeting in Co Tipperary.
William Dunlop plus Derek Sheils, Brian McCormack, John Walsh and Ulster Grand Prix Supertwins race winner Derek McGee are among the entries.
The Faugheen event is the penultimate Irish road race of the season, with the Country Crest Killalane meeting in north County Dublin on September 6 officially bringing the curtain down on the between the hedges action for another year.
After initial uncertainty over whether or not the Faugheen races would go ahead this month, the club successfully appealed for additional entries to enable the event to proceed.
“The club received commitments from enough racers to run our road race and would, in particular, like to sincerely thank all racers that we spoke to who gave us firm commitments to attend our road race and all those who said they would bring extra bikes,” said Race Secretary, Maeve Walsh.
“We are proud of the Irish road race community who have pulled out all the stops and who may incur extra costs to attend our road race to ensure that we maintain an Irish Championship road race here in the Village of Faugheen.”
World Rally star Craig Breen is set to complete a number of laps on Sunday in a special treat for the fans.
Admission is 15 euros for a weekend pass or 10 euros on Sunday only. Road close for practice tomorrow at 12noon and at 11am on Sunday morning for racing.
