William Dunlop has been released from Nobles Hospital in Douglas following a crash in Friday’s Senior TT.

The 28-year-old Tyco Suzuki rider came off at Graham Memorial on the Mountain section of the course on the third lap.

The Ballymoney rider is understood to have suffered fractures to his ankle.

Dunlop was reported to be conscious at the scene and was airlifted to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

His younger brother Michael, who won the race, came across the incident during the race, which fellow competitor Guy Martin described as a ‘bomb scene’.

Speaking after the race, Dunlop said: “My only concern is for William; racing means nothing when something like this happens. I’ve spoken to his girlfriend and I think he’s going to be okay.

“The Press have been trying to set us against each other but we’re brothers and my only concern is for him right now.”
