Turkington will compete in two different races at the world class event – driving a Corvette in the GT &amp Sports Car Cup and then getting behind the wheel of an ex DTM (Steve Soper)  BMW M3 E30 in the Super Touring Car Challenge.

Having dipped his toe in the Classic and Historic scene in 2014, his commitment to return has excited many.

Competing with Sam Thomas in the number 68 Corvette in tomorrow’s race, Turkington will take part in the 90 minute GT and Sports Car Cup.

A race series for genuine Pre-1966 GTs and Pre-1963 Sports-Cars that raced in the World Endurance Championship, the series operates on an invitation only basis, attracting entries from owners of some truly glamorous and spectacular cars.

Turkington will then hop into a BMW M3 E30 on Sunday to drive the ex Steve Soper DTM race car from 1992 in the Super Touring Car Challenge. Set to be a sensational year for the Historic Super Touring Car Championship, he will join the impressive grid of cars and drivers in Mark Smith’s BMW ran by the Brackley-based Team Amspeed.

Meanwhile, the annual Craigantlet Hillclimb takes place on Saturday and will host rounds of the Avon Tyres/TTC Group MSA British series and the local Millers Oils series.

The highest-placed seed is Garry Jennings, the Kesh driver will start at number four while Alastair Fisher will start at seven.

St Angelo Airfield on the outskirts of Enniskillen is the venue on Monday for the May Day Rally, one of the most popular rally events in the West of the Province.
