North Down Athletics club host opening meet of the season
The event is an ideal opportunity for athletes to check their fitness at this time of the year and the promoting club will be looking for good performances from young sprinter Aaron Sexton and middle distance stars Jessica Craig and Rachel Gibson.
The competition is open to all male and female athletes. The races will be graded on personal bests and ages.
Registration is from 6.15 onwards and the timetable is: 7.00, 150m years 8 and 9; 7.10, 150m; 7.15, long jump including year 8 and 9; also 7.15 hammer; 7.30, 600m; 7.40, javelin; 7.50, 3,000m; also 7.15 shot; and 8.15, 300m. North Down Athletics Club are hosting the opening Track and Field Meeting of the season tonight at Bangor Sportsplex on the Old Belfast Road.
