Ballymena ‘can’t afford any slip-ups’

Nothing will be decided tomorrow afternoon but with the top four in Division 1B playing each other the promotion picture could become a lot clearer.

Galwegians have a one point advantage over Garryowen while the Limerick side are a couple of points ahead of Trinity and Ballymena.

The Braidmen host Galwegians at Eaton Park while Garryowen travel to the Dublin students.

Ballymena coach Andy Graham knows his side can’t afford any slip-ups.

“We can’t afford to lose or the gap increases,” he said. “At the start of the season if you’d said we had five games to get promotion we would have taken it, (and) having got there we want to get something out of the season. The boys have worked very hard for it all season.”

Ballymena picked up a bonus point win against Bo’s last time out and The Braidmen have won their last two games against the Connacht side.

Ulster prop Dave Ryan starts at loose head while former Ireland international Bryan Young is at tight head, John Andrew is on the bench at Murrayfield so James Taggart starts at hooker.

Stephen Mulholland returns for club international duty and is joined in the backrow by the Gallagher brothers Dominic and James.

Dave Shanahan (hamstring) and Ricky Andrew (groin) are both missing.
