Five consecutive wins has put Banbridge in promotion contention in Division 2A although they face a tricky derby at Hatrick Park against Rainey.

The Old Boys hopes of a top 10 finish and third tier rugby next season suffered a set back last week with a home defeat against high flying Skerries although Rainey with nine U19’s in the match day squad fought back to secure a bonus point.

Richard Boyd’s side are 13th eight points behind 10 placed Naas.

Young prop Rory Squires could come back into contention after being side lined with a knee injury.

The back line is likely to stay the same with Mark O’Connor a try scorer last week staying on the wing although Alan Clarke may make the match day squad if he has recovered from a hamstring problem.

Banbridge are fourth, six points behind second placed Blackrock after last week’s home bonus point win over Seapoint.

Bottom of the table Dungannon’s relegation fate is all but mathematically sealed as they are 16 points from safety and face a tough trip to third placed Skerries.
