Ballynahinch lifted the First Trust Ulster Senior Cup for only the second time in the competition’s history when they defeated Malone 17-10 at the Kingspan Stadium.

Malone had gone into a 10-0 lead after an early penalty from outhalf Josh Pentland, plus his conversion to scrumhalf Jack McMurty’s try.

Before the break Ballynahinch crossed for a try through fullback Stephen McAuley, Richard Reaney converting.

First Trust man of the match, Michael Graham put Hinch in front for the first time with a try and then set up Reaney for the vital winning score.
