James Davies scored a late try as Scarlets beat Ulster 22-13 at Parc y Scarlets to keep their chances alive of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions Cup.
With Rhys Priestland kicking 17 points Scarlets have gone second in Pool Three with games against Toulon and Leicester remaining in January.
Ulster dropped to bottom of the group unable to back up last week’s bonus point win at the Kingspan Stadium.
Trailing 12-0 at the break, a try from Darren Cave, converted by Ian Humphreys and two penalties from Ruan Pienaar, brought Ulster to 15-13.
But after Pienaar missed a penalty to nudge them ahead, Davies was to secure the win for Scarlets and Priestland’s conversion denied the visitors even a losing bonus point.
