Tyrone searching for knock-out cup mentality against Cavan

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte has rung the changes for Tyrone's Allianz FL Division 2 final showdown with Cavan at Croke Park on Sunday.

Harte has made four changes to the side that secured a draw with Fermanagh in their final league game earlier this month.

Justin McMahon and Tiernan McCann are recalled to the half-back line in place of Barry Tierney and the injured Hugh Pat McGeary.

Niall Sludden and Mark Bradley start in the half-forward line. Team-captain Sean Cavanagh is set to make a landmark 100th appearance in the competition and his 220th appearance in total.

Tyrone beat Cavan by two points in the first round of the League but that feels like a long time ago now and will have little relevance on Sunday’s game.

“The fact that we had five wins out of five and then drew our last two games gives us a bit of cause for concern that we’ve fallen back a bit on our performance levels,” said Harte.

“But we’ll have to try to raise them again for the Final because this is a knock-out competition now. We have to get our minds into that space.”

On Saturday, Antrim will face Louth in the Division Four final.
