Digital Subscriptions

  1. Why should I purchase a digital subscription?

    By buying a digital subscription you will receive unlimited access to your preferred website’s online content. Additionally, you’ll receive free and unlimited access to the mobile app for that website.

  2. How does the subscription work?

    Digital subscribers will be given immediate access to their preferred website(s) and access to download the mobile app for free.

  3. When does access to my free entitlement to articles start/stop?

    Website users are entitled to 5 free articles per week following which subscription is required to view additional content. Your entitlement to 5 free articles resets at 23:59 on Sunday each week.

  4. I’m already a print subscriber. Will I get unlimited access to the website content too?

    Our current print subscribers receive free access to the mobile app. Unlimited website content is not included with print subscriptions. A separate digital subscription is required to receive unlimited access to the website.

  5. Do I need to renew my subscription?

    No. If you have chosen a monthly subscription, your subscription will continue automatically on a monthly basis without you having to take any steps. If you have chosen an annual subscription, your subscription will automatically continue for a further 12 month period at the end of your annual subscription without you having to take any steps . We will email you on three occasions in advance of the expiry of your initial subscription term to notify you that your subscription will automatically continue unless you choose not to do so (please see clause 7.3 of our Terms and Conditions ).

  6. How does continuous payment work?

    Direct debit, credit and debit card payments for digital subscriptions are made on either a monthly or annual basis. Your payments are spread accordingly. You will not be able to terminate your subscription during the minimum terms, although you do have a right to change your mind about your subscription within the first 14 days of your order, please see clause 7.2 of our Terms and Conditions

  7. How does payment for an introductory offer work?

    Subscribers who take up an exclusive or introductory offer will see their subscription price revert to a higher price once their offer period ends.

  8. What happens if my credit card or debit card details change?

    If you pay monthly, you will need to update your credit or debit card details on your account. Just visit the website you subscribe to and click login. Access your account and update your details. If you do not update your details and we do not receive your next scheduled payment your subscription may be terminated in accordance with our Terms and Conditions

  9. Is the online payment secure?

    We use SSL encryption software to keep the details of your order and payment information secure.

  10. How do you acknowledge receipt of my order?

    Proof of purchase will be sent to your registered email address.

  11. How do I download my app?

    The app is available for iOS and Android. Search for the app by title in the iTunes or Google Play store to download it for free. Log into your app using the email and password you have set for your subscription account.

  12. When will I get my subscription login details?

    Your login details are the same details you gave when you registered with the website.

  13. What happens if I go on holiday?

    Your digital subscription is continuous. You can access your content 24/7, 365 days a year, anywhere you have internet access.

  14. What do you do with my personal information?

    We will use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, please refer to the JPIMedia Ltd Privacy Policy

  15. Can I use my subscription account to access a different JPIMedia newsbrand website?

    No, your digital subscription can only be used for the individual JPIMedia newsbrand title you have subscribed to.

  16. What happens if I change my mind?

    You may cancel your order within 14 days of subscribing and you shall receive a refund of any payment that you have paid to us provided that we shall be entitled to retain payment for any of your subscription you have already received. Unlimited access to the website and the mobile app will stop immediately. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information .

  17. Can I read website content on my iPad or other devices?

    Whilst we try to ensure that our mobile app and online edition is available widely on tablets, smartphones, iPhone and iPad, we cannot guarantee that our app or online edition will be available on all such devices. Should you experience any issues please contact our Customer Support team - contact details at the bottom of this document. If we are not able to resolve this for you then you shall be entitled to cancel your subscription and receive a full refund.

  18. How do I cancel my digital subscription?

  20. Why do I have to pay to access the website?
    Independent, high-quality journalism costs money and we need the support of our readers to sustain that for many years to come. It is through our readers’ financial support that we can allow our journalists the freedom to report and investigate important stories of our time; focus on factual storytelling impacting local communities ‘as it happens’, commit to holding the power to account and fight for justice.
