Shankill Road Library will play host to popular author Leesa Harker, pictured, on Thursday 5 March at 7pm.
Leesa’s latest creation is a caricature of Belfast life in Maggie Muff’s Norn Iron Dictionary which is an amusing and witty collection of Northern Irish-isms parodied by the fun, but cringe-worthy Maggie Muff.
The book is an ultimate guide to Northern Irish banter.
The even-ing will be an opportunity to engage with Leesa and to gather an insight into what inspires her to create her enigmatic characters.
The event is part of Libraries NI author collection showcasing home-grown talent.
Leesa Harker is best known for her first novel, an adaption of the play 50 Shades of Red, White and Blue’ which sold-out theatres across Northern Ireland.
The mother of two is from Belfast and studied English Language and Literature at the Open University.
Leesa commented: “I enjoy visiting the Shankill Road Library, it holds many fond memories for me and I look forward to talking about Maggie’s latest views on our Northern Irish banter.”
The event is free and it is recommended to reserve a place. Further information is available on website www.librariesni.org.uk or contact Shankill Road Library, 298 – 300 Shankill Road, Antrim BT13 2BNor t: 028 9050 9232 or e: email@example.com.
